Tamara Roske is a writer, mother of six, and Founder and Executive Director of Earth Guardians, a global youth-led nonprofit active in over 70 countries. Her debut memoir, Broken Family: Finding Our Way Home, traces a path from abandonment to awakening. Despite only attending a few years of school, Tamara had a fierce commitment to learning, which fueled her instinct to survive and make a positive difference in the lives of others.

With more than thirty years devoted to environmental education, activism, and youth outreach, Tamara laid the foundation in 1992 for the Earth Guardian Community Resource Center, an accredited experiential-learning high school in Maui, Hawaii. She then built Earth Guardians as a cross-cultural platform to support youth in developing leadership skills. Tamara led Earth Guardians, supporting tens of thousands of young people as they worked to protect their communities from environmental and climate challenges.

As a dedicated manager, Tamara spearheaded the development and management of many young people including her son, Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, who as a young child became a prominent global youth activist, musician, speaker and author. Tamara’s work encompassed public relations, strategic planning, partnerships, branding deals, international outreach and speaker bureau agent.

Tamara worked alongside Penguin Random House on her teenage son’s book, We Rise; Earth Guardians Guide to Building a Movement that Restores the Planet. She coordinated interviews with renowned individuals and secured a back-cover endorsement from Leonardo DiCaprio shepherding the project from manuscript to publication and participating in the storytelling and editing. We Rise is used in high schools and universities nationwide.

Tamara is widely credited with being a global influence in elevating the youth voice and reaching diverse audiences worldwide.
